Penn Wyrough

 

Penn Wyrough is a Managing Director responsible for overseeing client debt and equity investments and providing advisory and consulting services to US and international companies.    Mr. Wyrough’s focus at Global Services & Investments is to grow the business by expanding services, recruiting and retaining premier professionals, and building superior capabilities to offer our clients.  Mr. Wyrough has more than 30 years of investment banking experience in M&A, capital raising and strategic advisory services.  He has worked at Global Services & Investments or its predecessors since 2009.  Previously, Mr. Wyrough was a Senior Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. where he worked for more than 20 years.  Mr. Wyrough also served as a Field Artillery officer in the U.S. Army.  He has an MA in international affairs from the School of Advanced International Studies of The Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and was graduated from The College of William and Mary.

Gerardo Ibarra

Gerardo Ibarra is Accountant for Global Services & Investments. His large experience includes 20 years of carreer in Grupo Salinas where Mr. Ibarra occupied various positions in Telecom business units in Mexico, Colombia and Peru, actively participating in various high profile M&A and corporate finance telecom transactions.  Mr. Ibarra was also involved in the oversight of certain investments made by Grupo Salinas in ventures in the telecom, VR, health care and Fintech space.   Mr. Ibarra holds a major in accounting from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (Mexico City) and an MSc. in International Economics, Banking and Finance from the University of Cardif (U.K.).

Jorge Romero

​

Jorge Romero is the Accounting and Treasury VP at Global Services & Investments. He has more than 20 years of experience in finance with significant expertise in accounting, treasury and risk management. Prior to joining Global Services & Investments Mr. Romero was the Head Risk Manager for “Invercap mutual funds”, a Mexican company, where he was responsible for identifying, measuring and controlling the financial and  operational risk of both the mutual funds and the management company. Prior to his time with “Invercap Mutual Funds”, Mr. Romero worked for Citigroup for eleven years on two different subsidiaries, “Afore Banamex” and “Afore Garante” where he was responsible for the pension funds accounting, treasury and securities management. Mr. Romero graduated form the “Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico” as a Public Accountant.

Liliana Oliveros

​

Ms. Oliveros is the Controller at Global Services & Investments. Ms. Oliveros oversees the financial reporting and tax compliance aspects of the company.   She has nineteen years of experience in accounting. Ms. Oliveros began her career as an auditor with Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP managing audits in the oil and gas, manufacturing, and construction industries. Prior to joining GSI, she worked for PetroFalcon Corporation where she oversaw the preparation of the financial reports required by the Alberta Security Exchange Commission; managed assessment of internal control over financial reporting and tax compliance required by Canadian and Venezuelan tax authorities. Ms. Oliveros graduated from Universidad Catolica del Táchira as a public accountant, cum laude.

Javier Estrada

​

Javier Estrada is a Management Consultant at Global Services & Investments. He has more than 8 years of experience in finance and operations, working with startups, medium-sized companies, and large enterprises across various sectors, including e-commerce, traditional retail, and omnichannel.
Prior to joining Global Services & Investments, Mr. Estrada held positions as an Omnichannel Manager at Maskota, and a Finance Manager at Petsy, all of which are Mexican companies. He was actively involved in equity and debt raising, company sales, and the evolution of companies from e-commerce to omnichannel. Mr. Estrada graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from 'Escuela Bancaria y Comercial' in Mexico

Bertha Casique

​

Ms. Casique is the Accounting & Treasury Analyst at Global Services & Investments.  Ms. Casique is responsible for preparing the financial reports and handling the administrative aspects of the company.   She has more than twelve years of experience in accounting. Prior to joining GSI, she worked for Etrion Corporation where she assisted in the preparation of the financial reports required by the Alberta Security Exchange Commission and assessment of internal control over financial reporting. Ms. Casique graduated from Universidad Catolica del Tachira as Bachelor of Science in Public Accounting and acquired a specialty in Business Administration from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello.

Horacio Medal

​

Horacio Medal is the Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Global Services & Investments.  Mr. Medal has over 20 years of experience in domestic and international transactions; private equity and strategic investments; M&A; commercial contracting relationships; policy, employment, procurement and corporate matters; joint ventures, general complex commercial disputes; as well as acquisitions and divestures of national and international corporations. Previously, Mr. Medal was the Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Azteca International Corporation as well as the General Counsel of Azteca America where he worked for more than 17 years and handled a variety of national and international matters including: programming acquisitions, production and distribution; intellectual property protection and licensing; sports and entertainment; immigration; telecommunications; acquisitions and divestures of television stations and he was the leading counsel in all legal aspects of Azteca America’s Network and the TV stations group.  Mr. Medal earned his LL.B. from the Universidad Panamericana, Faculty of Law in Mexico City in 1999. He obtained the Master of Laws degree (LL.M) from the Universidad Panamericana Faculty of Law in July 2004 (Cum Laude) and has also completed four Postgrad Specialist Programs at the same Faculty: (i) 2000 Constitutional Law; (ii) 2001 Intellectual Property; (iii) 2002 International Commerce; and (iv) 2003 Environmental Law. In 2005 Mr. Medal obtained his Master of Laws degree (LL.M) from the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law. Mr. Medal is admitted to practice law in Mexico and New York and he is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Federal Communications Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados, A.C.
